Little & Local River Kayak Tour 

Experience an  unforgettable afternoon on an 8km kayaking adventure up the scenic Puhoi River, topped off with a well-earned drink at the village's character filled historic pub; an eclectic time capsule in the very heart of this quaint Pioneer village. 

Starting from the Pohutakawa fringed beaches of Wenderholm Regional Park, you'll spot herons, pukekos, kingfishers and maybe even the odd kookaburra as you meander along the wide, densely vegetated estuary towards Puhoi historical village. After an energising paddle up the river, we'll be crossing the road to the Pub and relax under the shade with a glass of locally made feijoa wine, or a pint of the village’s unique craft beer!

Itinerary

The Little & Local River Kayak & Puhoi Pub Tour transports you to the quaint and Bohemian Puhoi village, where you'll be kitted out with a one or two-person kayak and life vests, before jumping onto a shuttle bus to Wenderholm Regional Park. 

From here you'll enjoy an exhilarating, un-escorted paddle up the river at your own pace, finishing in the historic local pub, where you can relax and enjoy a glass of the local Feijoa wine or pint of Puhoi craft beer.
